negative transfer of movement skills
negative transfer of skill occurs when skills previously learnt have detrimental effect on learning new skills. this is most likey to occur when the situation is very similar, but the response required is different

positive transfer of skills makes the learning of new skills easier because you dont have to learn a new skill from scratch. negative transfer of skill occurs when skills previously learnt have a detrimental effect on learning new skills.

positive transfer of skill makes the learning of new skills easier beacause you dont have to learning a new skill from scratch. fro example when learning the overhead serve in volleyball you can draw on previous experiences to enhance learning. the fms of striking and vertical jump can be applied as can similar skills e.g. serve in tennis

Positive transfer of skill makes learning new skills easier because an individule doesnt have to learn a skill from scratch. The assumption here is that the learning of fundamental motor skills can be transferred into the learning of new schools.
